The Indian government has issued new Covid-19 guidelines for international arriving passengers. According to the new guidelines, the mandatory 72-hour RT-PCR report is no longer required, and travelers can now show their Full Vaccination Certificate. Passengers who have completed the Self Declaration Form on the Air Suvidha portal and uploaded the negative RT-PCR test report or Covid -19 vaccination certificate will be allowed to board.
Furthermore, the government has removed the 'At Risk' designation from several countries with a high Omicron caseload. The government has also released the 7-day mandatory quarantine requirement, and all travelers will self-monitor their health for the next 14 days after their arrival.
Samples will no longer be given at airports and ports, and passengers will be able to leave the airport by providing a model for random sampling. According to the guidelines, 2% of the total passengers on the flight must undergo random post-arrival testing at the airport.
Regardless of whether they has Covid-19 symptoms, all international travelers were supposed to be quarantined for seven days, tested on the eighth, and report to the government's Air Suvidha portal. Instead, they must now monitor their health for 14 days and report any Covid-19-like symptoms to a nearby health facility or the government helpline 1075.
Those traveling from at-risk countries – a dynamic list of countries based on their Covid-19 situation – were required to submit a negative Covid-19 report from 72 hours before travel and to be tested upon arrival and wait for the results before leaving the airport.
