Serena Williams, the American tennis star, will be one of four people honored by the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) at the FIT Gala on April 13 in New York.
Williams will be elite with the Fashion Icon Breakthrough Award for her achievements off the court, including funding in companies that value diversity, launching her apparel line S by Serena and designing her signature jewelry in collaboration with Signet Jewelers.
TV and film producer Debra Martin Chase, FIT alumna Brandice Daniel, and Aerin Lauder, founder of AERIN and Estee Lauder's style and image director, will also be honored at the event.
