Chelsea's manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has departed from the club by mutual agreement following a single season at Stamford Bridge.

Taking the helm on July 1st, Pochettino signed a two-year deal with the option for an additional 12 months. Despite initial challenges, including a lackluster start to the season, a string of five consecutive victories towards the end secured a sixth-place finish in the Premier League.

Additionally, Chelsea emerged as runners-up in the Carabao Cup and made it to the semi-finals of the FA Cup during Pochettino's tenure.

Expressing gratitude to the ownership and management, Pochettino emphasized the club's positive trajectory in both domestic and European competitions.

Chelsea is now in pursuit of a new head coach, considering candidates like Kieran McKenna from Ipswich, Ruben Amorim from Sporting, and Vincent Kompany from Burnley. Notably, former managers Jose Mourinho and Thomas Tuchel are not in contention, as the club seeks a youthful leadership approach.

Pochettino's departure marks the sixth managerial change at Chelsea in five years, succeeding Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter's dismissals, with Frank Lampard taking interim charge at the close of the 2022-23 season.

Sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley conveyed appreciation for Pochettino's contributions and extended well wishes for his future coaching endeavors. Additionally, assistant coaches Jesus Perez, Miguel d'Agostino, Toni Jimenez, and Sebastiano Pochettino have also departed from the club.
