An Army MI-17V5 helicopter crashed in the forest of Coonoor in Tamil Nadu around 12:20 pm on Wednesday. It caught fire after a helicopter crashed in a dense forest. CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika, and 14 Army officers were on board. According to reports, 13 bodies have been found so far. As a result, it is learned that General Bipin Rawat's wife died in the accident.

A team of doctors, army officers, and Cobra Commandos are present at the scene. The bodies found are being identified, as 85% have been burnt. Some more corpses have been found in the valley. The helicopter was wholly damaged and caught fire in the aftermath of the crash.
