Chadha was elected to parliament on March 25 without resistance from Raja Sabha. "The five AAP candidates were chosen unopposed. We all pray to God father to give us strength to meet the party's expectations and overcome Punjab's problems," he said after the election.
Punjab's Aam Aadmi Party has nominated five candidates for Raja Sabha, including Ashok Kumar Mittal, Harbhajan Singh, Raghav Chadha, Sandip Patak, and Sanjiv Arora. However, since the term of parliamentary members ended on April 9, the position has been vacant in the country.
The AAP stormed Punjab with a landslide victory, securing 92 seats in the 117-member State Assembly in the recently concluded state election.
